The NUTRALiSS research group on nutrition, food, health and sustainability aims to comprehensively address the complex relationship between nutrition, food, health and sustainability. Its research covers everything from molecular biology to public health, including:

  • Biomarker research to examine the impact of diet and lifestyle factors on prevalent disease risk.
  • Precision nutrition and intervention strategies to promote lifelong good health, with a special emphasis on the Mediterranean diet and sustainable foods, cardiovascular risk, metabolism and microbiota.
  • Evaluation of the impact of different dietary patterns on planetary, human and environmental health.
  • Identification of determinants of the sustainability of food systems.
  • Design and evaluation of interventions for the promotion of good health and healthy and sustainable eating habits within the framework of community nutrition.
  • Analysis of policies and actions in the field of nutrition, food and sustainability.
  • Application of qualitative and mixed methodologies in the field of nutrition, food and sustainability.
